Mr. Tyber has worked in the orthopedic medical industry for over 12 years in product development, research, and management roles. Mr. Tyber most recently was the first employee and R&D Manager for Extremity Medical, a start-up company focused on the distal extremity orthopedic market. During his tenure at Extremity Medical, Mr. Tyber and his product development group were responsible for the invention, development and release of over 9 products, including Extremity Medicals core technology.
Prior to Extremity Medical, Mr. Tyber was a Design Engineer with B. Braun Aesculap, specifically in the spinal implant division. At Aesculap he designed posterior and anterior cervical spinal systems, as well as a stand-alone interbody spacer. Mr. Tyber was a co-founder and Senior Engineer for Medshape Solutions, a medical device company-commercializing device using a shape memory material platform. MedShape Solutions has released 4 shape memory products and raised over $25 million in venture backed funding.
Mr. Tybers inventions have been implanted in over 100,000 patients and have grossed over $450 million for the companies he has worked for. He is a named inventor on over 39 domestic and international patents and patent applications. Mr. Tyber graduated from the University of Colorado with a MS in Mechanical Engineering and BS in Mechanical Engineering as well as a minor in Business and minor in Statistics.
Mr. Massaia has over 40 years experience in accounting, finance and general management. A consultant for more than 25 years, he has worked with numerous start up, expanding, and turnaround companies, many as interim CEO or CFO, to maximize value through analysis, planning and execution. Most of these companies have been in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry segments. He has also held various management positions with Becton Dickinson & Co and Meadox Medicals, Inc.in the spinal implant division.
Mr. Gary Thomas has over 28 years of operations management, product development, quality and regulatory experience. Before joining Tyber Medical, Mr. Thomas was the Vice President of Operations at Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation (MTF), an orthopaedic biologic company. There he was responsible for multiple sites (approx. 300 employees) including: Operations, Distribution, Development, Supply Chain and Business Unit Operations. Prior to MTF, he was the Group VicePresident of Portfolio and Project Management at Biomet overseeing spine, bone healing and microfixation. Mr. Thomas has also held top management positions for Norman Noble, Howmedica (Stryker) and Pfizer. Mr Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Management for NJIT and a Bachelors Business Management Ramapo College
Mr. Schenk has over 20 years of experience working in the medical device industry, specifically in Quality and Regulatory Assurance roles. Mr. Schenk has been responsible for the implementation of over a dozen ISO 13485 quality systems, as well as numerous FDA and International product regulatory clearances. Previously Mr. Schenk served as Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs for Simpact Dental. During his tenure at Simpact, he was responsible for building an ISO 13485 quality system while receiving regulatory clearances in less than a year from the company’s conception. Prior to Simpact, Mr. Schenk served in senior quality positions at several companies including Datascope Cardiac Assist Division.
Mr. Dickson has over 25 years of healthcare experience which includes 22 years in Orthopedics. Mr. Dickson carried the bag in several industries including ENT, Spine and Orthopedics. Most recently; Mr. Dickson was President/Vice President of two start-ups where he managed Global operations for the Orthopedic Trauma Division. Prior to this, he had a 16-year career at Orthofix where he demonstrated his success as a Territory Manager, Trainer and a Sales Director. He has shown with great success on how to build winning successful teams and grow a company no matter where he goes. His areas of expertise include biologics, orthopedic reconstruction, orthopedic trauma, pediatric orthopedics, new product launches as well as client/account relationships. Mr. Dickson holds a BA in Social Science- Specialization Studies, with a primary emphasis in Health & Human Services, and a secondary emphasis in Career & Life Planning from California State University Chico.
Mr. Black has over a decade of experience in the medical device industry in a series of engineering and development roles. Prior to joining Tyber Medical, he served as Director of Engineering for Camber Spinal Technologies, Associate Director of Technical Services at The Institute for Musculoskeletal Science & Education, and Senior Project Engineer at Globus Medical. He brings a demonstrated record of success in taking medical devices through the development process from concept to market. Black is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania.
Mrs. DeLuca has over 10 years of medical device experience in Customer Service and Operations roles. Before joining Tyber Medical, Mrs. DeLuca was the Customer Service Manager at Extremity Medical where she was responsible for the management of 200 independent sales reps, logistics of managing surgi- cal and loaner inventory and hospital approval. Prior to Extremity Medical, Mrs. DeLuca started her career at Blackstone Medical (Acquired by Orthofix International) in Customer Service.
