Jeff Tyber has worked in the orthopedic medical industry for over 12 years in product development, research, and management roles. Mr. Tyber most recently was the first employee and R&D Manager for Extremity Medical, a start-up company focused on the distal extremity orthopedic market. During his tenure at Extremity Medical, Mr. Tyber and his product development group were responsible for the invention, development and release of over 9 products, including Extremity Medicals core technology.

Prior to Extremity Medical, Mr. Tyber was a Design Engineer with B. Braun Aesculap, specifically in the spinal implant division. At Aesculap he designed posterior and anterior cervical spinal systems, as well as a stand-alone interbody spacer. Mr. Tyber was a co-founder and Senior Engineer for Medshape Solutions, a medical device company-commercializing device using a shape memory material platform. MedShape Solutions has released 4 shape memory products and raised over $25 million in venture backed funding.

Mr. Tyber’s inventions have been implanted in over 100,000 patients and have grossed over $450 million for the companies he has worked for. He is a named inventor on over 39 domestic and international patents and patent applications. Mr. Tyber graduated from the University of Colorado with an MS in Mechanical Engineering and BS in Mechanical Engineering as well as a minor in Business and minor in Statistics.

Harold Tyber

Board Member

Harold Tyber has extensive management, business development and marketing expertise. He is a Founding member and former Chairmen of EndoShape, Inc and MedShape Solutions. EndoShape is a company applying shape memory polymer technology developed at the University of Colorado in cardiovascular applications. Prior to joining EndoShape, he served as Chairman and President of MedShape Solutions. MedShape is a company developing orthopedic medical devices utilizing the shape memory technology in multiple applications. Mr. Tyber was also an executive with Atlantic Richfield Company where he served as president of the company’s Australian coal and international power divisions and served on several company and joint venture boards.

In addition to his activities with Tyber Medical, he is also involved with Friends of the Haven and the Colorado Georgia Tech Club where he served as President and a board member. Mr. Tyber is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley where he received an MS in Operations Research and from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he received a BS in Industrial Engineering – Coop.

Brent Slosky

Corporate Counsel and Board Advisor

Mr. Slosky has been the managing General Partner for numerous oil and gas and venture capital partnerships (over 10) assisting with structuring corporate entities, acquisition of properties, fundraising and ongoing operations. He has been involved in a start-up, ownership and management capacity for numerous other ventures including international food service, international storage facilities, ophthalmic devices, and auto resales. He is currently CEO of two innovative medical device companies focusing on the development of a pipeline of novel polymers and products for use in Ophthalmology. Mr. Slosky is also a licensed attorney having over 22 years experience as a partner with two multi-national law firms emphasizing mergers and acquisitions (including structuring and financing), public and private finance, commercial finance, venture capital, start-up venture through IPO (company and investor) and corporate oversight and issues.

Arthur Alfaro

Board Member

Mr. Alfaro has spent 30 years in the medical device industry.  He began his career in the medical products industry with Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson Company, where he held positions in sales, sales management, product marketing, and international market development. Mr. Alfaro later joined Boston Scientific Corporation where he held the position of VP & General Manager, Microvasive Endoscopy. Subsequent to Boston Scientific he was President, Sulzer Carbomedics, Inc.

In 1998 Mr. Alfaro joined Sofamor Danek, Inc as President, Thoracolumbar. Sofamor Danek was subsequently acquired by Medtronic for $3.4 billion.  After the acquisition Mr. Alfaro moved to Osteotech, Inc. where he was appointed President, Chief Operating Officer and Board Member.  Most recent to joining Arch Sciences, Mr. Alfaro was President, CEO and Founder of three successful startup companies, Orthotherapeutics, LLC, Orthocon, Inc and Nextremity Solutions, Inc.

Mr. Alfaro was granted a BA degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
